3D PRINTING
FOR SHORTER DEVELOPMENT PATHS
3D printing FROM STANDARD PLASTICS TO HIGH PERFORMANCE PLASTICS
RAPIDprototyping.nl is focused on making development paths for product innovations as short as possible. By supplying plastic prototypes quickly and economically, we help R&D engineers and designers get through testing phases and improvement rounds effectively. Thus, we provide a grip on the go-to-market phase. 3D printing is basically the layer-by-layer building up of material mostly through laser or extrusion technology. This offers great structural freedom and function integration, while high load capacity and resistance is possible with High Performance Plastics. DECISION MATRIX 3D printing
To make it easier to choose between all the techniques and possibilities of 3D printing, you can use the Decision Matrix. This contains basic data and facts about materials, construction volumes, properties and lead times.
3D printing MATERIALS
We have a unique portfolio ofmaterialsthat we can process with our 3D printers. View more information on materials, applications and material datasheets.
3D printing TECHNIQUES
For functional parts made of plastic, SLS and FDM are the preferred 3D printing techniques. For products with very smooth surfaces, high accuracy and mechanical properties, we offer SLA printing technology, which is also widely used for scale models and trade show presentations.
3D printing DIGITAL MANUFACTURING
For Digital Manufacturing, or computer-controlled production without the use of mould or tooling, our SLS technique is particularly suitable due to the use of Nylon PA12 material and the great freedom for product design in this 3D printing process.
What customers make with us
In Rapid Prototyping, we combine advanced techniques such as SLS, SLA, vacuum casting and CNC milling to create functional and aesthetically pleasing products. Think of everything from form studies and working prototypes to reusable packaging and finished series products.
Our customers leverage our wide material selection and finishing options to make complex ideas tangible. Whether it's high-gloss chrome surfaces, color coatings or integrating metal components, we make it possible.

OUR 3D PRINTING TECHNIQUES
THREE TECHNIQUES WITH COUNTLESS APPLICATIONS
RAPIDprototyping.nl offers extensive machinery with industrial 3D printers. To process different plastics for desired applications, we have three types of 3D printers. For Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), we work with laser sintering machines that fuse powder granules layer upon layer into a product by laser exposure. Fused Deposit Modeling (FDM) involves fully fused layers of plastic applied layer upon layer via a nozzle, with temporary support material supporting the shape. The third method is Stereolithography (SLA), where the SLA machine exposes a UV sensitive liquid polymer in a liquid bath for very high accuracy and smooth product surface. We also have an experimental DLP machine on which SLA materials with very specific properties can be processed such as PP-like properties or water-soluble material.
