Lightyear (Atlas Engineering BV)

For Lightyear, we realized various panel parts made of plastic, including frames for the side doors. For tailgate manufacturing we developed a carbon lay-up mold
from which we produced 3 tailgates from 2.5mm carbon prepreg that were covered with solar cells by the customer.
In addition, vacuum casting technology was used to produce headlight housings with transparent lens parts.

Technology

CNC milling from ABS plastic (chassis part realized from mutual pieces glued together with mechanical interlocks). Carbon tailgate Toray T300 twisted in combination with K51 Skyflex epoxyresin.

Realization

Within 3 weeks for all body and lighting parts of the car and 4 weeks for the creation of the lay-up mold and delivery of 3 tailgates in Carbon.
